the process of losing the living is a different kind of pain than the loss of a breathing soul
when past fleeting decisions whose permanence was known in the moment,
finally take on the weight they were intended
a refusal to maintain a surface when the depth doesn't exist
defined losses bring with them familiar rituals that can aid in the passage of grief
undefined losses can linger a negative anchor
the undefined, the terrain where a cancer forms
